Travel between the Emirates will become quicker, greener, and more convenient with the upcoming passenger train with Etihad Rail, which is gaining traction in the UAE.

Etihad Rail is going to start convenient passenger services that will allow travellers to plan a journey between the Emirates by reducing travel time as compared to other modes of transport. Traveling from Abu Dhabi to Dubai and from Dubai to Fujairah will only take 50 minutes each in the future. Meanwhile, travelling from Abu Dhabi to Al Ruwais will only take one hour and ten minutes, and travelling from Abu Dhabi to Fujairah will take one hour and 40 minutes.

The Etihad Rail passenger train will connect 11 cities and regions across the UAE. It will stretch from Al Sila to Fujairah, including Al Ruwais, Al Mirfa, Dubai, Sharjah, Al Dhaid, and Abu Dhabi. The first passenger train station will be built in Sakamkam, Fujairah, at the heart of Fujairah city.

Along with a wealth of facilities, entertainment, and cozy seating, the Etihad Rail passenger train will also have high standards of efficiency and security. In addition to plenty of legroom, food and drink options, charging stations, multimedia systems, and cutting-edge air conditioning, there will be these amenities.


Etihad Rail has entered into an agreement with Arsenale, an Italian luxury hotel company, to oversee the project, which is envisioned to be the pinnacle of refinement. There are rumors that the passenger train will resemble the Orient Express.

The Etihad Rail passenger train is being designed by Spain’s CAF,  which will manufacture, supply, and provide maintenance on the trains as per European standards. Each train will have more than 400 seats and travel at a top speed of 200 kph. There will be a variety of seating segments to choose from including first class, business class, and economy.
