 THE One family is thrilled to be awarded second place on GCC's Best Workplaces for Millennials list.

For the first time ever in the GCC, Great Place to Work® announced the Best Workplaces for millennials. Earlier this year and for the 10th time, THE One, furniture retail brand of the Al Mazroui Group, was recognised as one of the best places to work in the UAE. This local ranking followed THE One being named 2020 Asia’s 2nd best workplace in the small and medium companies category. 

An Internationally Renowned Institute

The Great Place to Work® (GPTW) Institute recognises the best workplaces in over 45 countries worldwide. It has crafted its perspective by learning from great leaders, surveying millions of employees, and examining thousands of the best workplaces of all industries and sizes, around the globe. From these insights, the organisation has developed solutions to maximise the human potential in the workplace, increase innovation and thoughtfully scale businesses. The GPTW model is built on thirty years of research and data collected through its survey, which is taken annually by millions of employees worldwide. The organisation's decades of data have created a global standard for what people can expect from their work experience.

Focus on Millennials 

Millennials are those who reached young adulthood in the early 21st century. According to Michael Burchell, CEO of Great Place to Work Middle East, Millennials face a unique set of challenges both in and out of the workplace ranging from job security to a lack of trust in their management. 'The Best Workplaces on this list have created a greater sense of fairness, collaboration, and professional development for millennials. These positive experiences empower them to bring their full potential to the workplace and the world,' declared Michael Burchell.

The ‘Best Workplaces for Millennials’ list comprises a diverse number of industries including logistics, technology, finance, media, retail, fashion, FMCG, hospitality, healthcare and manufacturing.

“To be considered in the list, organisations had to meet the Great Place to Work-certified standard, with a minimum score of eighty-five percent based on what millennials say about their experiences of trust and ability to reach their full human potential as part of their organisation, no matter who they are or what they do,” said Mazen Harb, managing director for Great Place To Work Middle East.

By giving companies the ability to assess themselves using the most reliable and comprehensive definition of a great workplace, GPTW serves its mission to build a better society by developing great work practices for all.
